On models till 2001 remove the forelock, turn off a nut and separate a pin of the spherical hinge of the top lever from a back rotary fist (
). If the pin of the spherical hinge does not separate manually, take it by means of a stripper.

Turn off a nut and take a hinged bolt of internal fastening of the top lever.
Remove the top cross lever from the car.
Check a condition of the lever. On it there should not be cracks and deformations. The plug should not have wear, stratification and hardening of rubber.
On models till 2001 check a condition of the spherical hinge of the top cross lever for what fix the lever in a vice. Reject against the stop in one and other party a pin of the spherical hinge, then screw a nut on a pin. A dynamometer key turn a pin of the spherical hinge (one turn for 2–4 c), and on the fifth turn measure torque of a provorachivaniye which has to be not less than 0,7 N • m. Otherwise replace the top cross lever.
